Everyone tells us that being "a global citizen" is a wonderful thing to which to aspire. The identity opens personal and professional doors and gives us a platform to think of people and regions of the world far from our homes. Let's also, however, talk together about what makes global citizenship complicated. We live, of course, in an unequal world, where not all of us have the same opportunities and experiences.
